Zeekr 007 GT: A Stylish Wagon Set to Electrify Europe

Zeekr is poised to make a significant impact on the European electric vehicle (EV) market with the introduction of the Zeekr 007 GT, a stylish wagon version of its 007 sedan. While the popularity of wagons, or “kombi” as they are known in Germany, has waned over the years, they still hold a special place in the hearts of many European customers. Zeekr is seizing the opportunity to offer something unique in the EV sector, with the 007 GT being badged as the Zeekr 7 GT in Europe. This move signals a bold step for the Chinese automaker as it expands its global presence.

Design and Styling

The design of the 007 GT is both sleek and sporty, clearly drawing inspiration from the 007 sedan. The front fascia is dominated by a distinctive LED light bar that encompasses the headlights and daytime running lights. This light bar is configurable and can display text. The bumper has been updated with vertical air curtains and a larger lower grille featuring vents that can open and close. Along the sides, the 007 GT features new rocker panels and edgy C-pillars.

The roofline extends further back creating a “shooting brake” silhouette, which adds to the car’s dynamic appearance. Above the rear window, two aerodynamic fins are integrated as part of a small spoiler. The taillights are simple LED stripes, mirroring the design of the sedan. Furthermore, the wagon version of the car includes roof rails, and the D-pillar blends seamlessly with the rear window. This design also allows for additional headroom for rear passengers.

Powertrain and Battery

Underneath its stylish exterior, the 007 GT shares its underpinnings with the 007 sedan. This means it will feature Geely’s advanced Golden battery technology, which supports charging speeds of up to 500 kW. This remarkable technology allows for 500 km of range to be added in just 15 minutes, thanks to the 800-volt architecture. Built on the Sustainable Electric Architecture (SEA) platform, the 007 GT is expected to be offered in both rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) configurations. The power output is expected to range between 416 hp and 637 hp. The 007 sedan has a claimed range of 870 km on the CLTC cycle, and it’s anticipated that the GT version will have a similar range. The RWD long-range version uses a 100 kWh NMC battery, and the AWD version has dual motors with 475 kW power and 710 Nm of peak torque, with an acceleration of 0-100 km/h in 2.8 seconds.

Launch and Market

The 007 GT is slated to launch in China in the second quarter of this year. It is also anticipated to be showcased at the Shanghai Auto Show in April. In the Chinese market, it will compete with models such as the Nio ET5 Touring and Neta S shooting-brake. While the exact price of the 007 GT has not been disclosed, the base 007 sedan starts at 209,900 yuan (28,600 USD) in China, suggesting a similar or slightly higher price for the GT version. Zeekr has been actively expanding its global presence, currently selling vehicles in the Netherlands, Norway, and Sweden. Furthermore, the company plans to enter the South Korean market by the end of 2025, introducing the Zeekr 007 and Zeekr X. The 007 GT is a highly anticipated and stylish addition to the EV market, that is expected to draw significant attention in Europe and beyond.
