Jetour T-3: The Electric SUV That Rivals Supercars

An SUV with 1300hp

If you are looking for a powerful, stylish, and versatile electric SUV, you might want to check out the Jetour T-3 concept. This vehicle was unveiled at the 2023 Shanghai Auto Show by Jetour, a brand under Chery, and it promises to deliver impressive performance, design, and features.

What is the Jetour T-3?
The Jetour T-3 is a concept SUV that is built on the Kunlun platform, which supports BEV, PHEV, and EREV vehicles. The T-3 is the second off-roader from Jetour, following the T-1 that was launched last month. The T-3 is a four-seater vehicle with suicide rear doors that make it easier for passengers to get in and out. The vehicle measures 5.3 meters long, 2 meters wide, and 1.9 meters high, with a wheelbase of about 3 meters.

What makes the Jetour T-3 special?
The Jetour T-3 stands out for its powerful electric powertrain that consists of four electric motors, each producing 250 kW and 400 Nm of torque. The total system output is over 1300hp, which enables the T-3 to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3 seconds. That’s faster than many supercars on the market. The T-3 also offers a range of over 1400 km with the extended range version (EREV), which uses an internal combustion engine as an onboard generator. The efficiency of this version is 3.5 kWh/liter.

The Jetour T-3 also impresses with its rugged and futuristic design that resembles the FJ Cruiser. The vehicle has a boxy shape with large bumpers, black trim, wide squarish wheel arches, and roof rails. The front fascia features a large grille with LED headlights and fog lights. The rear end has a spare tire mounted on the tailgate and LED taillights. The interior of the T-3 is stylish and high-tech with a touchscreen on the center of the dashboard and a digital instrument cluster. LED ambient lighting and walkie-talkies are also standard features.

Safety
The Jetour T-3 concept has not revealed much information about its safety features, but based on the official website of Jetour1, we can infer that it might have some of the following features:

A 360-degree panoramic view parking assist system that helps the driver park safely and easily
A DMS driver health monitoring system that uses face recognition, fatigue detection, and health assistant to ensure the driver’s well-being
A L2.5+ level autonomous driving assistance system that includes APA automatic parking, DCLC lane change assist, FCTA front side collision warning, ELKA smart evasion, and lane-level navigation
An integrated vehicle electronic stability system that includes ABS, EBD, EBA, TCS, ESP, HHC, HDC, RMI, and DBF to enhance braking, traction, stability, and hill control
A safety airbag system that includes front and side airbags for the driver and passenger, and front and rear curtain airbags
A smart lighting interaction system that includes LED headlights and taillights, adaptive high beam, automatic on/off, home mode, and colorful light show
A TPMS tire pressure monitoring system that displays the pressure of each tire independently
An emergency rescue call system that connects to the emergency center in case of an accident

When will the Jetour T-3 be available?
The Jetour T-3 is still a concept vehicle at this point, but there are indications that it will become a production model soon. Jetour has already announced that it will launch six new vehicles this year, including a pickup truck based on the T-3. The Kunlun platform also supports L4 autonomous driving capability, which could be integrated into future models. Jetour is a fast-growing brand in China that sold over 50,000 vehicles in the first quarter of 2023, up 94% year-on-year.
