2024 Porsche Cayenne

What to Expect from the Facelifted SUV

The Porsche Cayenne is one of the most popular and successful luxury SUVs in the market, combining performance, comfort, and style. However, with the competition getting fiercer and the emissions regulations getting stricter, Porsche has decided to give its flagship SUV a major update for the 2024 model year. Here are some of the key changes and features that you can expect from the facelifted Porsche Cayenne.

    Revised Design
The 2024 Porsche Cayenne will not look drastically different from the current model, but it will have some subtle tweaks to keep it fresh and modern. The front end will feature a new sculpted bonnet, a revised bumper with more air intakes, and redesigned LED headlights that resemble those of the 918 Spyder. The rear end will also get a new bumper, dual exhaust pipes, and updated LED taillights. The overall shape and proportions of the Cayenne will remain unchanged, but the stance will be enhanced by larger-diameter tires that offer more comfort and grip.

    Enhanced Powertrains
The 2024 Porsche Cayenne will offer a range of powertrain options, from gasoline to diesel to hybrid to electric. The base model will use a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 engine that produces 335 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque. The Cayenne S will ditch its 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 engine for a new 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that delivers 483 horsepower and 457 pound-feet of torque. The Cayenne Turbo will also use a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, but with more power: 541 horsepower and 568 pound-feet of torque. The Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid will combine a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine with an electric motor for a total output of 670 horsepower and 663 pound-feet of torque.

The most significant change in the powertrain department will be the introduction of the Cayenne E-Hybrid, which will replace the current Cayenne Hybrid. The E-Hybrid will use a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 engine paired with an electric motor for a combined output of 455 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. The E-Hybrid will also have a larger battery pack that will allow it to travel up to 30 miles on electric power alone, with an estimated fuel economy of 67 mpg.

All models will use an eight-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive system as standard. Porsche claims that the new powertrains will offer improved performance, efficiency, and emissions.

    Upgraded Technology
The 2024 Porsche Cayenne will also benefit from some technology upgrades inside and out. The interior will feature a new steering wheel with paddle shifters from the 918 Spyder, a redesigned center console with a touch-sensitive surface, and a larger touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. The instrument cluster will also be digitalized with a customizable display. Other features include wireless charging, ambient lighting, ventilated seats, and a panoramic sunroof.

The exterior will feature some advanced safety and driver assistance systems, such as adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, blind spot monitor, rear cross traffic alert, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, parking sensors, surround-view camera, head-up display, and night vision. The Cayenne will also offer some optional features such as rear-axle steering, air suspension, torque vectoring, sport exhaust system, and carbon-ceramic brakes.

      Pricing and Availability
The 2024 Porsche Cayenne is expected to debut on April 18th at the Shanghai Auto Show in China. It will then go on sale in the US later this year or early next year. The pricing has not been announced yet, but it is likely to increase slightly from the current model’s range of $67,500 to $165,000.
