Volkswagen is unvailing the ID.7, claiming 700km of range

Volkswagen has officially introduced the new ID.7, an electric sedan, which was unveiled simultaneously in Europe, China, and the United States of America. As Volkswagen’s latest addition to their family of electric models from Wolfsburg, the ID.7 is expected to compete with the Tesla Model 3. With exterior dimensions similar to a Passat (measuring 4.96 meters in length), the ID.7 is built on the MEB platform, which is also used in other Volkswagen models like the ID.3, ID.4, ID.5, and ID.Buzz. The ID.7 will be powered by an 82 kWh battery for the Pro S version, offering a range of 700 km, and a 77 kWh battery for the Pro version, with an official range of 615 km.

During its launch, both variants of the ID.7 will be equipped with a single electric motor at the rear axle and a one-speed gearbox. Notably, the electric motor in the ID.7 is more powerful compared to other models in the ID family, boasting a total output of 286 horsepower (210 kW).

The highly anticipated Volkswagen ID.7 will make its debut in Europe and China this year, with availability for American customers starting from 2024. Inside, the ID.7 retains familiar design elements found in other Volkswagen electric models, but also introduces new features. Notably, the central screen boasts a generous 15-inch (38 cm) diagonal, and the dashboard now incorporates the screen in front of the steering wheel. Volkswagen has also addressed previous issues by illuminating the touch sliders that control the climate system.
