Hyundai has officially launched the new Sonata facelift for the markets in South Korea and North America. The new model comes with a new design, a new N Line version, and a curved digital instrument cluster.
The Sonata is a mid-size model that was sold in Europe until the beginning of the last decade. It continued to be sold in South Korea and North America, where it competes with other models such as the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry.
The new model has just received a facelift and features a completely new design compared to the old version. The front part looks somewhat similar to the Elantra and the new Kona generation. It has an LED illuminated strip and two optical blocks for each side. The grille has an aggressive design that gives the new Sonata a more sporty note. The sides have a smooth design, while the rear part contains LED lights united by a strip, just like in the front part.
The N Line version features 4 exhausts, and the exterior is complemented by 19-inch rims.
Inside, there’s a panoramic and curved digital instrument cluster with a diagonal of 12.3 inches for both driver display and multimedia system. There are numerous physical controls, along with a gear shift lever mounted near the steering wheel. The seats are upholstered in white leather, and the model comes equipped with ambient lighting.
Hyundai has not yet revealed any information about the engines of the new Sonata facelift. However, according to unofficial information, the model will benefit from a 2.5-liter turbo gasoline engine that will develop 290 horsepower for the N Line version. Additionally, the new model is expected to receive an all-wheel-drive version for the first time.
The new Hyundai Sonata facelift will not be available in Europe, at least for now. The model will be unveiled at the Seoul Mobility Show and then presented at the International Auto Show in New York.
