This is a remarkable electric car that represents Human Horizons’ vision of creating smart vehicles for smart cities. It is one of the most ambitious projects from China’s emerging EV industry.
The HiPhi Z was first presented as a concept in China in November 2021, and has since undergone rigorous testing and refinement to achieve production readiness. The vehicle features a unique and futuristic design, with matrix LED light systems and suicide doors on both sides. The interior is spacious and elegant, with quality materials and touch screens for controlling the car’s functions.
High-standard Driving Assistance Hardware
The HiPhi Z has a sophisticated system that can provide a high level of driving safety and comfort. The system consists of:
- A NVIDIA Orin X chip and QNX Neutrino real-time operating system that control 34 individual sensors in addition to LiDAR that constantly scan the surrounding environment to provide accurate information for decision making.
- An IVC vehicle dynamic control system that can adjust the steering angle, braking force and torque distribution according to road conditions and driver’s intentions.
- A 4D intelligent chassis system that can automatically adjust the suspension height, damping force and roll stiffness according to driving modes and scenarios.
- A rear steering system that can improve handling stability and agility by turning the rear wheels in sync or opposite direction with the front wheels.
- A matrix LED light system that can display messages and warnings to other road users through different patterns and colors.

Infotainment
The HiPhi Z has a cutting-edge infotainment system that offers a variety of features and functions for entertainment and convenience. The system includes:
- A 15.6-inch central touch screen that displays navigation, media, settings and other functions.
- A 12.8-inch digital instrument cluster that shows driving information, such as speed, battery level, range and driving mode.
- A facial recognition system that can identify the driver and passengers and customize their preferences, such as seat position, temperature and music. Oh, and it can also unlock the doors and start the engine.
- A voice control system that can understand natural language commands and perform tasks, such as adjusting the volume, changing the radio station or making a phone call.
- A smartphone app that can remotely control some functions of the car, such as locking/unlocking the doors, starting/stopping the engine or summoning the car.
Propulsion and batteries
The HiPhi Z has Two electric motors, one for each axle, that deliver a total output of more than 600 horsepower and 605 pound-feet (820 Newton-meters) of torque. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and has an estimated range of 600 km.
A 120 kWh battery pack that promises 705 km (438 miles) of NEDC range2. The battery pack can be charged from 30% to 80% in 25 minutes using a fast charger.
A regenerative braking system that can recover energy from braking and deceleration and extend the driving range.
Pricing
The pricing of the HiPhi Z starts at around $87300 USD or 610,000 CNY. However, the HiPhi Z GT will be priced between $89,000–$129,00 USD.
