Honda Unveils Sleek New Ye Series GT Models – Exclusively for China

Honda has just dropped the curtain on the latest additions to its all-electric 烨 (Ye) Series – the GAC Honda GT and the Dongfeng Honda GT. These snazzy new models made their grand entrance at Auto Shanghai 2025, underlining Honda’s commitment to the rapidly evolving Chinese EV market. This second wave of Ye Series vehicles aims to deliver a fresh and exciting driving experience exclusively for customers in China.

Double the Trouble, Double the Fun
While both the GAC Honda GT and the Dongfeng Honda GT share a striking “low & wide” stance, they each boast distinct design cues that reflect their individual flair. The GAC Honda GT leans towards a “seamless, sophisticated and smart sense of the future,” while the Dongfeng Honda GT aims for an “emotional sense of the future” that’s bound to turn heads. It’s like having two different flavours of future-forward motoring!

    Inside the Cockpit
Step inside, and you’ll find a cabin designed with both the driver and passenger in mind. For the lucky soul behind the wheel, the focus is on immersion, creating a “racing machine-like cockpit” to really enhance the joy of driving. Meanwhile, the front passenger gets a special treat with a “far-focus display,” promising a deep and expansive visual experience akin to watching a large screen – making those journeys fly by.

      Teching Up with Local Heroes
Honda isn’t just launching new cars; they’re also doubling down on local collaborations to pack them with cutting-edge tech. They’ve announced some exciting partnerships to supercharge their intelligent and electrification capabilities.

      • Smart Driving with Momenta: Honda is teaming up with China’s Momenta Global Limited, experts in advanced driver assistance that uses AI instead of relying on high-definition maps. The goal? To create a system that can autonomously navigate once a destination is set. This tech will be rolled out in future Honda models, promising safer and more relaxed journeys.
      • AI Comfort with DeepSeek: To make the in-car experience even better, Honda is joining forces with Hangzhou DeepSeek Artificial Intelligence. Their AI technologies will be integrated into all future Ye Series models, creating a more comfortable and enjoyable space for everyone. Good news for existing Ye P7 and Ye S7 owners too – these features will be coming to them via over-the-air (OTA) updates.
      • Electrification Powerhouse with CATL: Looking to the future of EVs, Honda is working closely with Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL). This collaboration will focus on co-developing a high-efficiency platform with batteries integrated directly into the vehicle body. Plus, they’ll be jointly developing a lithium-ion phosphate (LFP) battery for the third set of Ye Series models.

        Driving Towards a Greener Future
This push in China is a key part of Honda’s global ambition to achieve carbon neutrality for all its products and activities by 2050. By actively using local resources and rapidly introducing new EVs packed with advanced technology, Honda is accelerating its electrification efforts in the world’s largest automotive market.
