Quadrifoglio 100th Anniversario – Alfa Romeo is launching special edition models of the Stelvio and Giulia

Alfa Romeo has launched the limited edition “Quadrifoglio 100th Anniversario” of the facelift Giulia and Stelvio Quadrifoglio models, celebrating the 100 years of the iconic Quadrifoglio symbol.

The Italian automaker introduced the facelift versions of Giulia and Stelvio models in October 2022 and revealed their modified design Quadrifoglio performance versions in April 2023, which comes with Matrix LED optical blocks, revised grille, and a new fully digital dashboard. The limited edition 100th Anniversario is available with only 100 copies for each model.

The facelift Giulia Quadrifoglio model is equipped with 19-inch wheels, while the Stelvio Quadrifoglio model comes with 21-inch wheels. The Quadrifoglio symbol models come with the well-known 2.9-liter V6 twin-turbo engine, producing an increased power of 520 HP.

The Quadrifoglio symbol has been a part of Alfa Romeo’s sporting history since the brand’s beginning. It was on April 15, 1923, during the XIVth edition of the Targa Florio car race when Alfa Romeo introduced the Quadrifoglio symbol. Targa Florio was a prestigious event that transformed Sicily into an important stage for motor sports once a year . Alfa Romeo developed a specific version of the RL model for the race and recruited talented pilots, attaching enormous importance to the event in 1923.

In due course, Ugo Sivocci, a prominent race car driver of his era, achieved triumph through his expertise and a series of fortuitous circumstances, which would later amplify the significance of the Quadrifoglio (a four-leaf clover) emblem as a symbol of sportiness on the hoods of racing cars. As a result, the clover symbol has been retained for all racing models or high-performance variants of production models. The Quadrifoglio was initially hand-painted on Sivocci’s Alfa Romeo RL race car, in green, to bring him luck during the Targa Florio race in 1923. The Quadrifoglio and performance racing have since become intertwined
