2024 CUPRA Tavascan

A Stylish and Sporty Electric SUV Coming in 2024

Cupra unveiled its second electric vehicle, the Cupra Tavascan SUV, following the Born model from the Spanish brand. The Tavascan was designed and developed in Barcelona and will be manufactured at Volkswagen Group’s Anhui plant in China.

Cupra’s new electric vehicle, the Tavascan, will debut in 2024.

    General specifications

The Tavascan will be available in two power variants: 210 kW (286 hp) and 250 kW (340 hp). The 286 hp version will have rear-wheel drive, with an electric motor placed on the rear axle.

Built on the Volkswagen Group’s MEB platform, the Tavascan will have a 77 kWh battery that promises a range of up to 550 kilometres.

Selectable chassis configurations through its DCC Sport system, progressive steering, and high-performance tyres mounted on 21-inch wheels, connect the driver with the car and the road, providing a unique driving experience.

The wheel aerodynamics better cover the direct airflow, reducing turbulence and helping the CUPRA Tavascan model maximise efficiency.

The CUPRA Tavascan has a length of 4,644 mm, a width of 1,861 mm, a height of 1,597 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,766 mm. The boot has a capacity of 540 litres. The colour range includes Tavascan Blue, White Silver, Atacama Desert, Urano Grey, Hypernova Red and Century Bronze Matt.

      Interior

The key element of the truly unconventional design is the central console, a central structural element that supports the entire interior and helps define the character of all the floating elements. The central column connects the body of the console with the dashboard of the CUPRA Tavascan model; a sculptural, structural, and architectural feature that gives a sense of lightness.

As standard, the CUPRA Tavascan will be equipped with sport bucket seats. Later, the CUP bucket seats will also be available for the new model. The sculptural architecture of the seats uses a lightweight structure.

The fully electric coupé SUV will feature a 15-inch Infotainment system, which integrates a user interface (HMI).

For the first time, the CUPRA Tavascan integrates a high-fidelity audio system with 12 speakers, developed in collaboration with Sennheiser.

        Safety

Alongside plenty of convenience equipment we can also find a rich variety of advanced safety systems from the latest generation of the Polkswagen Group, this includes for example the advanced cruise control system Travel Assist that uses cloud technology, V2X system that allows the car to communicate with other cars or with a smart city system, there is also a safe exit system that prevents opening of the doors if it is not safe to do so, eSmart digital center mirror, 360 degree camera, advanced driver control that can bring the car to a full stop and call an emergency center in a safe place if the driver is not fit to drive, and more.
