Bye Bye Chevrolet Camaro

Hello Collector's Edition

Chevrolet announced that it will stop production of the current generation Camaro after 2024 and launch a special collector’s edition to mark the end of an era.

The current generation Camaro is the sixth one since the model was introduced in 1966. It debuted in 2015 and received a facelift in 2019. The decision to end production of the Camaro was influenced by several factors, such as declining sales, changing consumer preferences, stricter emissions regulations and competition from other sports cars.

Chevrolet has not confirmed if there will be a seventh generation Camaro or if the model will be discontinued permanently. However, some sources suggest that Chevrolet could revive the Camaro nameplate in the future with an electric vehicle.

The collector’s edition will be available for Camaro RS and Camaro SS trim levels, as well as for a limited number of ZL1-equipped vehicles. The RS and SS models will have a 3.6-liter V6 engine with 335 horsepower or a 6.2-liter V8 engine with 455 horsepower, respectively. The ZL1 model will have a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine with 650 horsepower.

This special edition will feature an exclusive color scheme, with black paint and gold stripes on the hood and trunk, as well as special badges on the grille, fenders and sills. The interior will have black leather seats with gold stitching and numbered plaques on the dashboard.

Chevrolet has not revealed the price or exact number of units of the collector’s edition, but said they will be available in early 2024. Production for the sixth generation Camaro will officially end in January 2024 at the Lansing Grand River Assembly Plant in Michigan
