Mitsubishi Outlander 2024 in EU

In 2024, Mitsubishi Motors will introduce a new generation of its flagship Outlander in Europe, reversing its previous plan to pull it out of the market in 2020. The Japanese company made this decision as part of its strategy to regain its market share in the region, where it had only three models left: the Space Star, the Eclipse Cross and the new ASX.

The new Outlander will come as a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV), which has a gasoline engine and two electric motors powered by a battery that can be plugged in. The Outlander PHEV was among the first SUVs with this technology, which lets it drive on electricity for short trips and lower its fuel use and emissions.

The new Outlander PHEV will get a new look and a more modern mechanics, with a longer electric range than the current model, which can go up to 54 km on battery only. The new model will also have better performance, handling and comfort, as well as more advanced safety and infotainment systems.

The new Outlander PHEV will face other plug-in hybrid SUVs in Europe, such as the Ford Kuga PHEV, the Peugeot 3008 Hybrid4 or the Toyota RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid. These models have a similar idea of mixing electric and hybrid modes, but with different levels of power, efficiency and price.

The new Outlander PHEV will be launched in Europe in 2024, after its debut in Japan and North America, where it is already on sale. The exact date and price are still unknown, but Mitsubishi has said that it will offer a good value for customers who want a versatile, spacious and eco-friendly SUV.
