Okay gearheads and tech enthusiasts, let’s talk about something wild OMODA just dropped on the scene. Forget what you thought you knew about crossovers; they’re shaking things up big time.
OMODA officially unveiled its latest innovation to the world: the futuristic OMODA C3. Making its grand global debut at the Shanghai International Auto Show, the C3 launched with a dramatic, high-energy event, revealing a striking, cyber-inspired design that feels like a bold step forward in the brand’s ongoing evolution.
More Than Just Metal: “Art in Motion” Meets Cyber-Mecha
Building on their “Art in Motion” legacy, the C3 draws inspiration from lightning, merging cyber-futuristic sharpness with deconstructed lines and electric energy to redefine aesthetic expression. OMODA isn’t calling this just a design study; they see it as a radical declaration for future mobility, where art collides with cyber-mecha and dynamic flow merges with boldness. It’s specifically designed with Gen Z in mind, aiming to defy convention and forge a new paradigm.

Every element of the OMODA C3 reflects a philosophy of advanced mechanical aesthetics. Its body is sculpted precisely, featuring sharp, geometric lines reminiscent of interstellar battleships. From the intricate spoke patterns of the wheels to the sharply angled side mirrors and meticulously detailed headlamps, the C3 truly blurs the line between machine and living entity. The exterior features these angulous lines and geometric cuts, playing with light and shadow.
Shannon Gahagan, National Brand and Marketing Manager for OMODA & JAECOO, commented that they’ve moved beyond design trends to create a new visual language that speaks to a generation shaped by technology, individuality, and bold self-expression. It’s pitched as more than a car; it’s a statement of where mobility, art, and innovation converge.
While the original “Art in Motion” played with shadow and light through curves, the C3’s cyber-mecha lightning amps up that dynamism. Lightning, nature’s intense force, is fragmented by the C3’s contours and reassembled through cyber-futuristic logic. Echoing the “Art in Motion” philosophy of balancing movement and stillness, the C3 captures the instant of a thunderbolt’s strike, freezing that energy into bold, electrifying lines. Every sharp contour reflects a shift in light; every etched line follows the flow of current. The C3 isn’t just a new vehicle—it’s a bold statement of future-facing design. Some design elements include LED technology for headlights and daytime running lights, a hood that dips in the center, sharply cut wheel arches, detailed lower body parts and doors, a floating roof effect, and rear lights that span the width and feature a lightning design. It also features semi-hidden door handles.
Step Inside the Command Centre
The exterior is wild, but the inside matches the vibe. The C3’s cabin has been styled as a futuristic command centre. Drawing inspiration from aviation and performance design, it features fighter jet-style instrumentation, mechanical switchgear, and an immersive cockpit experience designed for the modern driver. The interior design inspiration seeks to emulate a spaceship cabin and incorporate carbon fiber and geometric button layouts that align with the exterior design.

Currently, the interior is not finalized and appears as a mockup or model behind dark windows. There is uncertainty about the final screen size, whether it will be the 13.2-inch screen or the 15.4-inch screen seen in other models.
Coming Soon? Here’s the Lowdown
The OMODA C3 is set to launch globally in October 2025. When it arrives, it is planned to be available with both petrol and NEV (New Energy Vehicle) powertrains, offering choices for different drivers. This fits into OMODA and JAECOO’s broader “Born Global, Born NEV” vision showcased at events like Auto Shanghai. The C3 is expected to be positioned as the brand’s new entry-level model, replacing the C5 as the starting point.
So, keep an eye out. The OMODA C3 is definitely looking to make a statement.
