All-New Lexus ES: Elevated Sedan Luxury and Electrification

Alright, buckle up, car enthusiasts! We’ve got the inside scoop on the all-new Lexus ES, and trust us, it’s a game-changer. Lexus has just pulled the wraps off its eighth-generation luxury sedan, and it’s looking seriously impressive. Let’s dive into what makes this new ES so special.

A Fresh Take on a Classic

The Lexus ES is a bit of a legend, having been around since Lexus first burst onto the scene in 1989. This latest iteration is all about building on that solid reputation for luxury and refinement, but with a clear eye on the future. Lexus is calling its development concept “Experience Elegant & Electrified Sedan”. Sounds promising, right?

While the ES has been a long-time favourite in North America and Asia, it’s a more recent arrival to the European market. But Lexus is clearly serious about making a splash here with this all-new model, scheduled for a European launch in Spring 2026.

    Style That Speaks Volumes

Lexus has adopted a new design philosophy for the ES: Clean Tech x Elegance. What does that mean in plain English? Well, the exterior styling is sleek and elegant, with a bold presence but a minimalist feel. They’ve even evolved their signature spindle shape, giving it a new look that hints at the car’s electrified power. It’s a tad bigger than the previous model in all dimensions, but that “Clean x Tech” design keeps it looking sharp.
The front gets a distinctive look with a sharply defined spindle shape and new twin L-signature lights, which Lexus reckons will become an iconic detail for their electric era. Around the back, you’ll find new L-signature rear lights seamlessly integrated with an illuminated LEXUS logo.

Inside, the “Clean Tech x Elegance” theme continues, with a focus on creating a simple, clean, and sophisticated space. The upper cabin feels open and spacious, while the lower area cocoons the occupants. For those who like to travel in style, there are even options for reclining rear seats and an ottoman leg support – talk about being chauffeured in comfort!. Lexus is also debuting some cool interior design elements like Bamboo Layering and Synthetic Leather Embossing, which use clever lighting to create a modern feel.

Comfort and Tech on Another Level

Lexus has really focused on taking the ES’s already impressive comfort levels even higher. The front seats have been redesigned to keep you comfy on long journeys, and they’ve put a lot of effort into reducing noise with improved door seals and sound-insulating glass.

On the tech front, the new ES introduces Lexus-first “Hidden Tech” switches. These bad boys are invisible when the car is off, but light up when you start the engine, giving a super sleek and minimalist look. Despite looking like touch panels, they offer tactile feedback – a nice touch!

You also get a brand-new digital cockpit, featuring a 12.3-inch combimeter and a new 14-inch LexusConnect multimedia system. The navigation system in the electric models will even help you find charging stations and keep an eye on your battery level. Plus, the LexusConnect system will get regular over-the-air updates.

Powering the Future: Hybrid and Electric

Here’s where things get really interesting. The all-new ES embraces Lexus’ “multi-pathway powertrain strategy,” offering a choice of full hybrid powertrains and, for the first time, battery electric ES models. You’ll also have the option of front and all-wheel drive.

For the self-charging hybrid fans, there will be the ES 300h (in Western Europe) and the ES 350h (in Eastern Europe), both using a 2.5-litre petrol engine with upgraded hybrid systems and the option of front or all-wheel drive.

But the big news is the introduction of battery electric versions: the front-wheel drive ES 350e and the all-wheel drive ES 500e. These models benefit from Lexus’ electrification know-how and sit on a new global architecture platform designed to accommodate both hybrid and electric powertrains. The ES 500e even gets Lexus’ DIRECT4 intelligent electric all-wheel drive system for optimal handling and an engaging drive.

        Safety First (as Always)

Lexus is serious about safety, and the new ES comes packed with the latest enhancements to its Lexus Safety System +. This includes upgrades to the Adaptive Cruise Control, Pre-Collision Safety system (now with electric scooter detection!), and the introduction of a Driver Monitor System that can detect if you’re losing concentration.

There’s also an enhanced Driver Emergency Response System, Blind Spot Monitor with bicycle and motorcycle detection, and Lane Departure Alert that can now spot roadside structures. The new ES is also the first to include Lane Change Assist and Front Cross Traffic Alert in its safety package. And for better visibility at night, there’s a new High-definition Adaptive High-beam System.

So there you have it – the all-new Lexus ES is shaping up to be a seriously impressive luxury sedan, blending elegant design, cutting-edge technology, exceptional comfort, and a range of electrified powertrain options. We can’t wait to see it hit European roads next year!
