First Look: Zeekr’s Stunning 9X Flagship SUV Set to Turn Heads!
Hold onto your hats, luxury SUV fans! Zeekr, the premium electric vehicle arm of Geely Holding Group, has just dropped the first official images of its brand-new flagship model – the Zeekr 9X. Prepare to be impressed, because this full-size beauty is not only introducing a fresh design language for the brand but is also packing some serious technological punch.
Slated for a grand public unveiling at Auto Shanghai 2025, the 9X is being positioned as a luxurious and comfortable all-rounder with a commanding presence. Its squared-off, robust lines aim for a “majestic without being intimidating” aesthetic. Keen eyes will spot a large grille with prominent vertical chrome bars at the front, a design cue that echoes the luxurious Zeekr 009 MPV. The side profile boasts clean, straight lines, giving it a substantial and sophisticated look.
But the real visual drama happens at the rear, where the 9X features a distinctive “Ring Screen Star Diamond” through-type taillight assembly. Zeekr claims this intricate unit contains a staggering 43,343 individual diamond-cut facets, promising exceptional recognisability when lit. These “Side Wing Star Diamond Matrix” taillight clusters are designed to complement the front-end styling.
Beyond the stunning looks, the Zeekr 9X is brimming with cutting-edge technology. It will be the first model to feature the G-Pilot intelligent driving solution. This system is built upon Zeekr’s Level 3 autonomous driving architecture and utilises the advanced ZEEA 3.0 central computing digital architecture, which reportedly boosts end-to-end communication response speed by a significant 50%. For unparalleled awareness, the 9X will employ an advanced sensor suite, including five LiDAR units – one long-range and four short-range for complete blind-spot coverage, providing what Zeekr terms “four layers of 360-degree perception capabilities”.
Performance enthusiasts will be excited to learn about Zeekr’s new “Super Electric Hybrid” technology. This innovative powertrain aims to blend the best aspects of pure electric (BEV), plug-in hybrid (PHEV), and range-extender (EREV) technologies, promising a disruptive leap in performance, efficiency, and overall driving experience. Zeekr has officially stated that the 9X can rocket from 0 to 100 km/h in the 3-second range, showcasing its potent credentials.
Positioned firmly in the flagship luxury SUV segment, the Zeekr 9X is expected to come with a premium price tag. While official pricing is yet to be announced, initial estimates suggest a starting point of around 500,000 yuan (68,000 USD), with a potential high-end “Grand Edition” possibly nearing the 1 million yuan (136,000 USD) mark.
