DeLorean Next Generation Motors (DNG), a new car company founded by Kat DeLorean, the daughter of the legendary automotive executive John DeLorean, has revealed its second model, a Corvette-based sports car with gullwing doors. The new model, which has not been named yet, is expected to go on sale in 2024 and will compete with other high-performance sports cars in the market.

According to DNG, the new model will be based on the C8-generation Chevrolet Corvette, which features a rear mid-engine layout and a 6.2-liter V8 engine that produces 495 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. DNG will modify the Corvette chassis and bodywork to create a unique design that pays tribute to the original DeLorean DMC-12, which was famous for its stainless steel body and gullwing doors. The new model will also have a stealth interior trim package and a convertible engine appearance package with a window under the tonneau and an engine cover.

DNG’s CEO, Kat DeLorean, said that the new model is a result of her passion for cars and her desire to honor her father’s legacy. “My father was a visionary who created an iconic car that captured the imagination of millions of people. I want to continue his vision and create a new generation of DeLoreans that are modern, innovative, and exciting. The Corvette-based DeLorean is our way of offering a more affordable and accessible option for sports car enthusiasts who want to experience the thrill of driving a DeLorean,” she said.

The new model will be priced at around $100,000, which is significantly lower than DNG’s first model, the Model JZD, which is expected to cost around $250,000. The Model JZD, which stands for John Zachary DeLorean, is a limited-edition supercar that will feature a hybrid powertrain with over 1,000 horsepower and a top speed of over 200 mph. The Model JZD will also have a futuristic design with carbon fiber body panels, LED lighting, and scissor doors. DNG plans to produce only 300 units of the Model JZD, which will be delivered in 2025.
