Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale – A V6 engine or an electric drive?

Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale is a limited-edition supercar that offers buyers the choice of an electric powertrain or a V6 engine.

The Alfa Romeo Stradale 33 is a limited-run piece of rolling sculpture that has been designed to meet the needs of its owners. The car is inspired by the Tipo 33 race car from the late 1960s and is a throwback to the driver engagement and simplicity that typified supercars of the past before technology took over. The name β€œ33” has several references, the first being to the design, as this new 33 Stradale borrows from the famous Tipo 33. Secondly, Alfa is only producing 33 examples of this supercar, and all of them are already sold.

The exterior of the 33 Stradale features a large wraparound sunroof that furthers the aircraft theme, creating a cockpit view from inside. A unique design element is that the maximum height is in the center of the car, with a gradual slope towards both ends. The side glass that wraps around into the roof and the butterfly doors are also standout features.

The 33 Stradale is available in two variants: petrol and electric. The petrol version is equipped with a 620 HP 3.0-litre V6 twin-turbo engine capable of reaching a top speed of 333 km/h and accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 3 seconds. The electric version can produce a total output of over 750 HP and provide around 240 miles of driving range on a full charge. Alfa Romeo is mum on specifics, but it claims that the electric setup makes more than 750 horsepower.

The interior of the car mimics the cockpit of a jet airplane with physical switchgear pockmarking the cabin. The cabin integrates physical controls to engage the likes of its front-axle lift, launch-control system, and drive-mode selector, which offers the driver two settings to choose from: the default Strada mode that favors on-road comfort or the track-oriented Pista setting.

The design of the 33 Stradaleβ€”with its low-slung looks, flowing lines, butterfly doors, and airy glass canopyβ€”is arguably its piΓ¨ce de rΓ©sistance, and its retro-modern styling bridges the gap between Alfa’s past and its future. The car’s exterior looks are eye-catching materials and grooved themes that match those of exterior lighting. The car manages to avoid looking austere thanks to these features.

In conclusion, Alfa Romeo’s new street-legal supercar, the Alfa Romeo Stradale 33, is an exquisite piece of machinery that combines retro-modern styling with cutting-edge technology. With only 33 examples produced, this limited-run piece of rolling sculpture is sure to be a collector’s item for years to come.
