Volkswagen’s New Tiguan

A Reinvented Family SUV for 2024

The Volkswagen Tiguan has long been recognized as a popular and successful family SUV, and now, Volkswagen is preparing to unveil its latest iteration of this beloved model in 2024. The new Tiguan promises a range of updates and improvements, both inside and out, making it an even more compelling choice in the competitive SUV market.

Redesigned Exterior

The 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan showcases a sophisticated evolution of its stylish design, building upon the success of its predecessor. Although full details are yet to be revealed, disguised images hint at a more curvaceous aesthetic with notable enhancements such as a full-width LED light bar at the front and IQ.LIGHT HD matrix headlights, similar to those found in the premium Volkswagen Touareg. These advanced headlights feature a high-performance main beam with a remarkable range of 500 meters, as well as innovative features like a lane-following “carpet” and glare-free high beam.

To ensure a comfortable and dynamic driving experience, the new Tiguan is equipped with an electronically controlled suspension. This advanced suspension system enhances ride quality and stability by adjusting damping characteristics based on driving conditions.

Enhanced Interior and Infotainment

Volkswagen has prioritized the interior refinement of the new Tiguan, incorporating an all-new cockpit design and state-of-the-art infotainment systems. The centerpiece is a central touchscreen, ranging from 12.9 to 15.0 inches in size, depending on the trim level. This large, high-resolution display is complemented by a digital cluster with a heads-up display projected onto the windshield, providing drivers with essential information without diverting their attention from the road. Furthermore, ambient lighting adds a touch of sophistication to the interior ambiance.

ErgoActive front seats will be an option for the Tiguan. These chairs have features often found in premium-class versions, such as pneumatic 10-chamber pressure point massage functionality in the backrests and four-way lumbar support adjustability. Additionally, they have ventilation and heated seats.

Furthermore, the new Tiguan offers a larger luggage compartment (648 litres), providing ample space for cargo and enhancing practicality for everyday use. This increased storage capacity adds to the versatility of the vehicle.

Engine Options and Performance

The new Volkswagen Tiguan will offer a wide range of engine options to suit varying customer preferences. Although specific powertrain details are yet to be fully disclosed, sources suggest that the Tiguan will include petrol, diesel, and plug-in hybrid variants. The plug-in hybrid models are expected to deliver power outputs ranging from 201 to 268 horsepower, offering a balance between performance and efficiency.

The Tiguan offers a range of advanced drivetrain options, including TDI, TSI, eTSI, and eHybrid drives. These drive systems incorporate modern technologies to deliver improved performance and efficiency. The new Tiguan with plug-in hybrid drive is expected to achieve electric ranges of up to 100 kilometers, providing an eco-friendly driving option.

Tayron

Volkswagen has announced that it would launch an updated, longer version of the next generation Tiguan soon. However, it will have a different name—Tayron—and the new model will come with hybrid motors.

Tayron is the name of a 2018 VW SUV that is only sold in China. The new generation for the European market will be assembled in Germany at the Wolfsburg main factory. The new Tayron, which is essentially an altered version of the Tiguan, will be built on the MQB Evo platform and will feature three rows of seats. Similar to the next Tiguan, the new Tayron will also include hybrid PHEV motors. Volkswagen has confirmed two drives for the Tayron: one generating 204 horsepower and a more powerful version generating 272 horsepower. Unfortunately, there aren’t many details available about the new model at this time

Pricing and Release Date

According to available information, the 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan is anticipated to have a starting price around £32,000, with first deliveries scheduled for the first quarter of 2024. However, it’s important to note that these details are subject to change as further announcements and official pricing are made.
