Genesis GV80 Coupe Concept – Ready for production

Genesis has presented the GV80 Coupe Concept, a design experiment that will pave the way for a future rival of BMW X6 or Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe. The GV80 Coupe Concept is a four-seater crossover that draws inspiration from the X Speedium Coupe Concept, which was presented last year. The concept brings together style elements of the existing GV80 model with those found in X Speedium, which has a more dynamic shape.

The front of the GV80 Coupe concept stands out with the help of thinner LED technology headlights. In

Over the past seven years, we have added more lifestyle-oriented models to the portfolio, such as our GV80 and GV70 SUVs Luc Donckerwolke – Hyundai Group Chief Creative Offficer

addition, the front has more aggressive air intakes with black casings, while from the side, the sloping roofline catches the eye. The concept also brings horizontal LED lights on the front panels and has a much lower posture than that of the original Genesis GV80.

The most important difference is at the back. The sloping roof of the GV80 Coupe concept ends with a dynamic rear, more aggressive, as we find on models such as BMW X6, Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe or Porsche Cayenne Coupe. The rear of the car has LED lights like X Speedium Concept, has a spoiler mounted on the trunk and still subtle spoiler that continues the roof line. The bright orange hue, called Magma, is also intended to catch attention.

Some modifications have been made to GV80’s interior for this concept. For example, there is a three-spoke steering wheel and surfaces that are now covered in black Nappa leather and microfiber, with orange stitching and carbon fiber accents. The SUV has four seats and is equipped with four sport seats with carbon fiber backs finished in the same orange hue as the exterior. There is also a large stiffening bar behind the second row seats.

See the Genesis GV80 Coupe Concept live, starting April 7 at the 2023 New York Auto Show.
